Great interview and very informative. I have never used online back-up before, however I was convinced to look into this technology after learning how smart Berkeley’s software really is. I mean, if it only backs up essential data (smart back-ups), then broadband consumption/ upload times do not seem like such a problem - the one thing that was holding me back!
Not only is bandwidth not such an issue, but one of the other things that I really liked about the product is the “only backup if I have been idle for X minutes” setting. I have mine set to 15 minutes. That way it only starts running if I am not actively using the resources anyway.
Enjoyed the podcast. It would be great to see a picture of the interviewee and hear a little bit more about who Josh Coates is and how Berkeley Data Systems got started.
