Ask a group of your fellow Utahns why they choose to live here, and a word you will hear pop up a lot is “community”. How odd then, that as cell phones and the internet make communication ever easier, we are less likely than ever to know our next door neighbors or the family down the block. Sure you “know them” you wave to them from time to time, but what do they do? Where do they work? What are their names? What are their interests?
As important as community is, so many of us make the choice to live among strangers. This is all too true in the Utah business community as well. What do you, or your company need? What do you sell? What problems do you have or do you solve, and is there someone else in the valley that can fix them, or needs fixing?
There needs to be a relaxed, functional environment to actually find the answers to these questions; to begin to build that “community” that we all value so much. A place where you can throw off the tie, share a few laughs, meet a few people, and gosh darnit learn something cool.
